World Flute Society

Scholarship Opportunity

The World Flute Society is offering a $500 scholarship to an individual engaged in an educational program highlighting a world flute(s). The application is open to everyone, with a strong preference being given to members of the World Flute Society. Funds are to be used for educational materials and travel expenses associated with the program.

This scholarship is limited to programs that are educational in nature, featuring world flutes or one type of world flute. The emphasis is on grades K through 12. If going outside of the K through 12 system, the program must be geared toward an underserved audience, perhaps disabled adults or similar. This scholarship is not to be used by individuals who want to give a presentation at a flute festival, flute event, flute gathering, or flute circle.

The recipient’s program should be at least an hour in length, but preferably longer and over multiple days such as an artist-in-residency. The program must be verifiable and be a substantive venue. The scholarship recipient must provide receipts. The award will be given to the scholarship recipient after the program is completed.
